Elding Whale Watching has decades of experience and offers the most talked about whale watching and sea adventure tours in Iceland. All year round they offer whale watching, incentive and exclusive tours and the ferry to Viðey Island.

Elding is a family-owned company that originated through personal interest in wildlife, boats and people. They believe that offering whale watching tours would be a great way to unite these interests and also be the perfect service to locals and tourists that have yet to experience Iceland’s marine life and surrounding waters. In 2000 they set off with a seasonal schedule from Sandgerði with great wildlife success but learned that we needed to be closer to the market.
Afterwards they offered the tours from Hafnarfjörður in 2001 and eventually from Reykjavík in 2002.

They are proud to be the original whale watching operator in Reykjavík and we believe that the experience and enthusiasm for making the best tour available gives us an advantage. Already within 2014 they offered their services to 75.000 tourist and gave them an fantastic experience at sea.

The tours are wildlife tours therefore each tour is unique. They follow IceWhale’s codes of conduct for responsible whale watching as well as following our own stricter guidelines. To advance their knowledge Elding is participating and support marine biologists research on wildlife in our area. Elding also is the first and only environmentally certified whale watching company in Iceland.
